Largs Probus Club held its annual Burns Lunch on Wednesday 24th January in the Willowbank Hotel attended by nearly 50, members, partners and guests. The Hotel staff provided their usual excellent table service and lunch, comprising cock-a-leekie soup or fruit cocktail, followed by haggis, neeps and tatties or steak pie.The haggis was piped in by John McInnes and the address to the haggis was given by Frank Scott.
Following the lunch, we were entertained by Willie Gibson, from Prestwick Burns Club, recollecting his travels and experiences gained in the pursuit of all things Burns. He has attended Burns Events all around the world, and had some fascinating stories interspersed with recitations of Burn’s poetry. The vote of thanks was given by our President, Roddy Eunson, who thanked Willie for a unique and fascinating Immortal Memory presentation.
